The X64 SD grinds only what you drop in. Weigh the beans, pour them into the short hopper, grind, and push the bellow to clear the chute. Switching beans between shots or between espresso and filter takes seconds and leaves almost nothing behind.

Inside are 64 mm flat steel burrs with stepless micrometer adjustment. It covers espresso through French press. Espresso grinds at about 3 g per second. Compact and quiet enough for a kitchen counter.
