Uganda Kisoro Estate Anaerobic Natural
Cooked red grape, dried cranberry, brown sugar. A microlot from Kisoro Estate in the volcanic Kigezi Highlands of southwestern Uganda, grown at 1,800 meters. Anaerobic natural process: the cherries ferment in sealed tanks before drying, which pushes the fruit forward and adds a winey acidity.
Kenneth Barigye planted the estate in 2022 as a working lab for regenerative farming and precise processing. It has already produced coffees good enough for the competition circuit. Ibrahim Kiganda used this lot to win the 2025 Uganda Barista Championship.
This is a small lot, so it comes in 225 g bags and a limited number of 2 lb. Brew it as pour-over and give it a slightly wider ratio. The fruit needs room.
